The Cofounder - Startup Magazine

The Cofounder is the first startup magazine to boost the entrepreneurial ecosystem in the country through its stories. The founders of the magazine, Adhish Verma and Arunraj Rajendran, both used to write in HireStreet and then they decided to take a major step to launch a hardcopy magazine that can put light on early stage startups in India. UK-based investor Sanjay Choudhary invested in the company.

About

The magazine talks about the real stories of the entrepreneurs and their early stage startups. The company was incorporated in 2016 with its parent company, Hirestreet Media Pvt Ltd. It also brings up the struggles and the journey of the Indian CEOs and CIOs of the different startups. The magazine is published in 4 cities of Jaipur, NCR region, Bangalore and Mumbai. The headquarter of The Cofounder is located in Ghaziabad and one of its branch office is in Bangalore.

Objective

At the launching event, the company talked about the acid attack survivors who later became young women entrepreneurs. The motive is to revive the traditional stories of News and Stories and to help boost the entrepreneurial ecosystem in the country through its stories. India is 4th largest country in terms of startups in the world with more than 3,000 startups so far and it is projected to get 10,000 by 2020.

Prospects

In 2015, there were estimated more than 70 Venture Catalysts and 600 Angel Investors who invest in Indian startup ecosystem. In India, magazine market has huge prospects to grow. More than 49,000 publications are already there in the country. Opening startups is one of the biggest trends of 2016 in the country that is aligned with the schemes like Startup India campaign, Make in India, Digital India campaign, etc. which are initiatives from the government. The magazine realises the value of a startup organisation. It aims to create a healthy environment of business and marketing.
