Rina Onur (born 28 September 1986) is a Turkish entrepreneur, investor and author. She co-founded Peak Games, the online and mobile social gaming company targeting Turkey & MENA regions. Rina has been a speaker at several conferences including Techcrunch Disrupt., Davos World Economic Forum, Dublin Web Summit, NOAH and DLD. She is also the co-author of Ivy Series, a series of four young adult books she penned with Lauren Kunze, while still studying at Harvard University.

Career

Peak Games

Rina co-founded Peak Games with Sidar Sahin in 2011. Peak Games grew to over 30 million monthly active users in 18 months. Peak Games has raised over 35 million dollars in funding from venture capital firms such as Earlybird, Hummingbird and Endeavor Catalyst.

Hemenkiralik

In 2013, Rina co-founded Hemenkiralik. Hemenkiralik raised VC funding from 212 Ventures and Aslanoba Capital. In 2014, Wired Magazine featured Hemenkiralik in their "Europe's Hottest Startups" issue, selecting it as the hottest digital startup in Turkey. In 2015, Hemenkiralik received an investment from Homeaway Inc, now wholly owned by Expedia.

500 Startups

500 Startups is an early-stage venture fund and seed accelerator founded by Dave McClure and Christine Tsai in 2010. The fund admitted a first "class" of twelve startups to its incubator office in Mountain View, California in February, 2011. They expanded to a second class of 21 in June 2011 and a third class of 34 in October 2011.

500 Istanbul

In 2016, Rina launched 500 Istanbul, a $15M VC fund focused on early-stage technology companies founded by Turkish entrepreneurs.
